WHY DO I HAVE TO LOGIN EVERY TIME?
When you create an account for the first time and login you'll see a checkbox you can select, which gives you the option of "Remember My ID". If you have checked this box, but GunMountain.com is still acting like we're meeting you for the first time every time you come to us, then you'll need to check the settings in your web browser (whether that's Internet Explorer, AOL/Netscape, Mozilla Firefox, or others). This is a really nice feature that allows GunMountain.com to 'remember' you when you come back and visit us again so you don't always have to login. However, this only works if you allow cookies to be set through your web browser. Yes, "cookies" can be annoying, but at the same time they're just a simple little line of code planted on your hard drive that helps us to recognize you when you come back to visit us again.

Here are some tips for checking your settings on some of the more popular browsers...
MS Internet Explorer; Go to "Tools > Internet Options". In the pop-up window select the "Pivacy" tab. Here you will see a slider that you can use to select the level of privacy for your computer. The less restrictive your Privacy settings, the more likely you will be able to have cookies saved to your computer. Try lowering it to the next level down and see if that helps GunMountain.com to save your login information.
AOL Explorer; Go to "Tools > Settings" and a pop-up window will appear, called "AOL Explorer Settings". Select the "General" Tab and then click on the button near the top that says, "Internet Options". When the NEW pop-up window opens, go to the "Privacy" tab. Here you will see a slider that you can use to select the level of privacy for your computer. The less restrictive your Privacy settings, the more likely you will be able to have cookies saved to your computer. Try lowering it to the next level down and see if that helps GunMountain.com to save your login information.
Netscape Navigator; While you are on GunMountain.com, go to "Tools > Cookie Manager > Unblock Cookies From This Site". Then try logging in again, making sure you select the checkbox for "Rember My ID". That should do it.
Mozilla Firefox; Go to "Tools > Options" and select. You should get a pop-up window. In that window select "Cookies" and expand it by clicking on the + sign. Here you can select a checkbox, which will allows sites (such as GunMountain.com) to set cookies.
POSTING PHOTS WITH YOUR AD
If you've never done this before, just walk through this brief tutorial and we'll get you going.

First, you'll need to have digital images to upload them to your ad. Use either a digital camera OR take pictures with a traditional film camera and have the film developed so that you get a CD with images on it. You can even buy a disposable/single-use camera and have the film developed so you get a CD with images on it.

Image Requirements: your images must be in the following file formats to be uploaded to GunMountain.com; .JPG, .JPEG, .BMP, OR .GIF. Carefully check the file size of your image before uploading - you are limited to only 1500 kb per image.

For a Digital Camera: Connect your digital camera to your computer using the supplied USB cable that came with your camera. If you've already installed the software program (driver) that came with the camera, then your computer should take just a few seconds to 'recognize' the digital camera. Newer Windows/PC computers will not require you to install a software program for the computer to recognize the digital camera. Once the camera is connected, it will display the camera in "My Computer" as an additional drive, such as "K: Nikon Removable Drive". Now you're ready to start posting your ad.

For a CD of digital Images: You've got to have a computer with a CD drive on it for this one to work. Insert the CD into the CD drive tray and close the drawer. Depending upon how you had the film processed and who did the processing, you may get a prompt to install a software program for viewing, editing, or sharing the photos on your disc. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INSTALL THIS SOFTWARE to upload your images from your CD. Just cancel out of the intallation program. Now you're ready to start posting your ad.

When you get to Step 4 of the "Placing a New Listing" process you'll see a screen that looks like this;

In order to find the photo you want to post with your ad you will need to click on the "Browse" button. This will bring up Windows Explorer, which allows you to search your computer for the file you want to upload.

If you have a digital camera plugged in you'll need to navigate to "My Computer" and look for the "Removable Drive" that is your camera. Open it up by double-clicking it and then look in the folder that contains your pictures. Select the one you'd like to post and click OK. The location on your computer and the name of the file will appear in the field just to the left of the "Browse" button. Be sure to click on "Upload Photo & Continue" because this will upload the photo from your camera to our server. If you wish to upload more photos (up to 20) repeat the process until you have finished uploading all the photos you wish to place with your ad. If you are done uploading photos click on "Take me to the next screen."

If you have digital photos on a CD, you'll need to navigate to "My Computer" and then select your CD drive that contains your photo CD. Open it up by double-clicking it and then look for the folder that contains your digital photos. The name of the folder will be different for every film processor, and the names of your digital image files will probably be numbers with a .JPG or .JPEG, or .GIF file extension. If you DO NOT see any of these file extensions with the names of your photos then these digital images are not in a compatible/usable format for the web. Only .JPG, .JPEG, .GIF, or .PNG formats will be readable by our server. If you don't have this format you'll need to convert them or have someone convert them for you. Otherwise, Select the one you'd like to post and click OK.
